Mane Creations Spa and Salon held a "Spa-A-Thon" and raised $700 for Dessin. Spa owners Teresa Rowe and Colleen Martin, and Jennifer Creamer, Sue Kizer and Laura Miller all donated their time and services so that all profits could go to the shelter. The realtors and staff of Century 21 Gold C Realty's Honesdale and Tyler Hill offices, long time supporters of our shelter, presented a donation of $275 to help care for the pets. Christina Devine (left) and Jolene Monchelli, who were students at Western Wayne High School, presented a check for $1000 to Sue Frisch (center) Dessin Animal Shelter Manager. Christina and Jolene raised the money as part of their senior project by hosting an event called Bands Against Animal Abuse, held at the Hamlin Fun Center. 9 bands performed for a crowd of approximately 200 people. |

Summer chose Dessin as a charity project, collecting cash and needed items for the shelter. |

While a senior at Western Wayne High School, Stephanie Greaney launched a "Have a Heart" campaign as her senior project. She delivered 2 truckloads full of items her project collected including towels, blankets, pet toys, dog and cat food, as well as treats, Clorox and kitty litter. Stephanie said she chose Dessin for her project "because I heard of all the wonderful things it does for all of the animals and it is a non-profit organization, so I thought it could use some help." |

Hillary and Barry Anthony, owners of Main Street Books in Honesdale, PA, presented a check and goods totaling nearly $1000 to Jennifer O’Reilly, Dessin's Community Outreach Chair. The proceeds were from a holiday fund raiser called Gracie's Christmas Tree, named for their rescued Standard Poodle. Sitting with the humans are white Poodle Molly, and the fund raiser's namesake, Gracie. |
